Kochu Kuttalam Waterfalls

Kochukuttalam Waterfalls Kollam

Kochu Kuttalam Waterfalls, a 50-feet tall waterfall located in Vazhappara village in Pathanapuram, now attracts thousands of tourists every day. The waterfall though not very popular, could be a nice place to roam around in free time. But before you visit make sure that the waterfalls is alive and not dried up.

A small stream that runs through the forest is the source behind Kochu Kuttalam Waterfalls. As the stream is not full of water in hot summer days, you may not be able to see this. But once it rains continuous for a couple of days, the falls turn alive as water starts flowing and falling again.

The water falls deep on to the rocks and so there is less danger here. Similar to other waterfalls where there are many deep water holes, here there is no such deep water area. It makes the waterfall less dangerous. This lets even the smaller kids to enjoy a shower in the waterfalls and the parents can send them for it without having any fear of drowning.

The waterfall is very much similar to Kuttalam Waterfalls in Tamil Nadu. This is the reason why the fall is named Kochu Kuttalam Waterfalls which means that the fall is similar to the former but smaller in size. It is slightly adventurous to reach the waterfalls as you will have to walk over rough rocks. But for sure, the adventure is worth taking up.

You can reach Kochu Kuttalam waterfalls from Thiruvananthapuram international airport which lies around 2 to 3 hours’ journey away. Another most prominent tourist destination Kovalam beach lies approximately 100 km away.
